Before summer break began in early May, medical students were given a glimpse of how medical education could increasingly unfold in the future.

Forced to gather and communicate online due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, the nature of learning about the medical field has been quickly transformed

Access and demand for online resources saw a significant uptick that is likely to continue when med schools across the United States start back up, but remain in COVID limbo, at the end of July.

“Medical training is a hands-on activity, so it isn’t feasible to provide comprehensive education remotely,” Dr. Lisa Howley, the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships, says.

“Still, schools are managing to find ways to adapt. What impresses me most is their ingenuity.” 

Hosting 200,000 learners on the site every month and used by 80% of third-and fourth-year medical students in 191 countries, OnlineMedEd was already ahead of the curve when it came to innovation.

Today, with the announcement of a strategic partnership with test preparation giants Kaplan, it has cemented that position further. 

Kaplan’s recently revamped test preparation question bank (Qbank) will be paired with OnlineMedEd’s medical learning platform, providing a bigger edge for those wanting to nail their USMLE ® exams.

“When Kaplan revamped their already impressive Qbanks, it was clear to us that they were the best option for students requiring a robust Qbank in the months before the exam,” Dustyn Williams, OnlineMedEd’s Co-Founder and Lead Educator, says.
